More than a Coach
It’s been years since the last time we met yet it feels like as if it was just yesterday. His a real big brother to me, not by blood but by the way we treat each other friendship.
People in life do come and go but there’s someone that will influence you that will leave a mark on your heart and mind. A memory that cannot be erase by time nor just fade like a bubble.
We first met during our college days. He is a choreographer of a dance group on the Campus. I was a freshmen when I saw their dance group organization audition that was posted at the Campus bulletine board. I tried the audition and thankfully I was recruited.
From then on our friendship begins. I’ve learned a lot regarding different style of dance. Different genre and choreography. He is indeed one of the passionated choreographer that I’ve met since then. Out of his passion for dancing, he help students to learn and grow that same passion in them and pass it on to others to keep that influence alive.
To me, he does not only teach me about dancing but how to manage our priorities. My decision making during those time on how I will handle academics while dancing was indeed a difficult choice to me but I did the best I could give until such time that I need to focus more on my studies as I face major subjects on my scenior years.
Those days are unforgetable especially when the leader of the group pass the baton to you. One of the challenging yet blessing events on my life. That experiences makes me more mature on how to handle a group with different members of mixed school years. Thankfully he potrayed not only a choreographer but a coach that know how to see and read the potential of his student and trust them by giving responsibilities while shoulder-to-shoulder of heartfelt support and advice.
Thanks Coach! It’s been always a joy to see someone like you. Till next time!
